ENGLISH GRAMMAR.
Fourth—An Adjective is a word which one expresses some quality or other accident belonging to the Substantive.
நான்காவது—பண்புச் சொல்லானது பெயர்ச் சொல்லினுடைய சில குணத்தை அல்லது மற்ற லட் சணத்தை விசிதப்படுத்துகிற ஒரு சொல்லாயிருக்கிறது.
Fifth—A Verb is that—which expresses action, Being or Suffering.
ஐந்தாவது—வினைச் சொல் என்பது செய்கையை யிருக்கையை படுக்கையை விசிதப் படுத்துகிறதுதான்.
Sixth—An Adverb is joined to verbs, and also to adjectives and other adverbs to express some circumstances belonging to them.
ஆறாவது—வினையுரியானது வினைகளோடும் பண்புச் சொற்களோடும் வினையுரிகளோடும் அவைகளுக்கடுத்த சங்கதிகளை விசிதப்படுத்துகிறதற்காகக் கூட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
Seventh.—A Preposition, which is put before nouns and pronouns chiefly to connect them with other words, and to shew their relations to those words.
ஏழாவது—முன்னிலை என்பது, பெயர்ச் சொல் முன்னேயுஞ் சுட்டுச் சொல் முன்னெயும் வைக்கப்பட்டுப் பிரதானமாயவைகளை மற்ற வார்த்தைகளோடே யிணைக்கிறதற்கும், அந்த வார்த்தைகளோடே இவைகளுக்கிருக்கிற சம்பந்தத்தைக் காண்பிக்கிறதற்குமாக இருக்கிறது.
Eighth—A Conjunction, which joins words and sentences together.
எட்டாவது—கூட்டிணை, வார்த்தைகளையும், வசனங்களையும், ஒன்றாக இணைக்கிறது.
Ninth—An Interjection is used to express some sudden Emotion of the mind.
ஒன்பதாவது—வியப்புச் சொல் மனிதன் சில அசுப்பான கொந்தளிப்பை விசிதப்படுத்துகிறதற்கு வழங்குகிறது.
