ΑΗSΤRΑ ΟΤ Syenite compelx occurring west of Korati, five miles of South of Tiruppattur, North Arcot district, consists of widely varying textures and mineral assemblages. Replacement of plagioclase by orthoclase, microlinization of plagioclase, biotitization of hornblende, development of vein perthites and patchy perthites and tabular felspathic porphyrobiasts are attributed to the effect of K-metasomatism of this area. Considering other similar areas, it is concluded that potash metasomatism is one of the processes of fenitization associated with the eni piacement of carbonatites. Since most of the plagioclases are replaced by potash feldspars, potash-metasomatism takes place after Soda-Iron metasomatism. It is supposed that Potash metasomatism plays its role in the evolution of the syenite complex of Korati. அறிமுகம் : வடார்க்காடு மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள திருப்பத்துருக் குத் தென் மேற்கே ஐந்து மைல் தொலே வில் கிடைக்கும் க ர்பான டைட் டுப் பாறைகளே ஆராயும்போது, அப்ப கு தியில் உள்ள சயனே ட்டு பாறைகளிலும், ஏனேய பாறைகளிலும் தென்பட்ட குறிப்பிட்ட சில கனிம அமைப்புகள் கருத்தைக் கவர்ந்தன . அப்பாறை களேப் பற்றி மேலும் ஆராய்ந்தபோது தோன்றி ப கருத்துக் களே இக் கட்டுரையாகும் நிலத் தொடர்பு : கொரட்டிக்கு மேற்கே கார்பான டைட்டு, வெர்மி குலேட்டு, பைராக் சினேட்டு, சார் ன ைகட்டு, பையோடைட் நைசு, கிரா குே டையோரைட்டு, சயனேட்டு ஆம்பிபோலேட்டு பாறைகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. சயனேட்டில் அவற்றின் கனிம அடக்கத் தைப் பொருத்தும் கனிமச் சேர்க் கையைப் பொருத்தும் பல வகையான பாறைகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. அஜிரின், அஜிசினு ைகட்டு, இரீப ைகட்டு, தயாப் சைடு, கார்னட்டு, போன்ற 1 O
