Grammatical isogloss : Conditional suffix -kippi. This suffix -kippi occurs only after the negative suffix -a :-. eg. var-a:-kitti “if doesn’t come” Lexical isoglosses : In the lexical level also there are many lexical items which are found exclusively in this dialect of Tamil. Lexical item Meaning emplatu “eighty’ tla : yram “nine hundred' malla : ffe ‘ground nut' kuccukka : ri “prostitute” etc. 5. Western dialect Western Tamil dialect is the one that is being spoken in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgris, Salem and Dharmapuri.
