அடுத்து, அகத்தினைப் பாடல்களில் பெண்ணொருத்தியைத் திருமணத்தில் பெற அப்பெண்ணின் பெற்றோர்களுக்கு விலையாகப் பொருள் கொடுத்த செய்தியினைக் காணலாம்.
சுற்றத்தார் வேண்டிய பொருளை நாட்டையே கொடுத்துத் தலைமகன் வரைவு (திருமணம்) மலிந்தான் என்று தோழி மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் தலைவிக்குக் கூறுகின்றாள் என்று ஐங்குறுநூறு குறிப்பிடுகின்றது. [2]
இதன் விளக்கவுரையில் ஐங்குறுநூற்றின் பழைய உரையாசிரியர், “உலகை வழங்க வேண்டும் உள்ளத்தன் அஃதின்மையால் நாட்டை வழங்கினான் என்பதாம்” என்று உரை கண்டுள்ளமையினை நோக்குக.
