The Life of Arunagirinaathar K. M. vENKATARAMIAH. M.A., ARUNAGIRI NA ATHAR (=2|Gaww Gifbir stř) of Thiruppugazh (505Lil Jospp) fame was born of Thiruvenkaadar (505 Garsārstr_rf) and Muthammai (opš 5th solo) in the 15th Century A.C. at Kavirippūmpattinam (smsāshūglobul ill-orib). Soon after his birth, his father Thiruvenkaadar went on pilgrimage to North India and he permanently settled at Kasi (&mr&A) (Varanasi- eurrūr@@). The mother therefore moved with her son to ThiruAnnamalai (305.9/songwyldau), the residence of her daughter, Aathi Lakshmi (egy Govs: #A7) by name and there the mother fell ill and left for her peaceful abode. The rearing of the child Arunagiri (ongo soráàiff) fell upon his sister Aathilakshmi. Arunagiri grew up of age and studied Thevaram (GA5airrorth), Thiruvā chakam (@GairrorsLi), Thirumanthiram (SGu05 Sæth), Thirumurugätruppadai (FGypG<r Hgy5usol_) and other religious literature and became a scholar of repute. Though an erudite scholar, Arunagiri did not act according to his scholarship, but he became a free linger and indulged in worldly pleasures. Hence he lost his wealth and reputation and fell ill. He hated to live in the world. He went on wandering in the streets of Thiru-Annamalai (திருஅண்ணுமலை). One day, the Lord enshrined at Thiru Anna malai, bade him to sing songs in praise of Kumara (gunsreir), who resides in his well known six abodes.
