(n.) தொண்டையில் ஏற்படும் சதை வளர்ச்சி; 4 disease of throat giving rise to vegetation or fleshy growth of papillac or false membrane (சாஅக.). [தொண்டை + தூறு) தொண்டைதிறத்தல் tondai-tirattal, பெ. (n.) தொண்டை தொடர்பான குரல்வளை, காற்றுக் குழாய் முதலிய உறுப்புகளில் ஏற்படும் நோய்கள்; diseases in general of the throat organs such as larynx, trachkea, gullet etc. (சாஅக.). [தொண்டை + நோய்) தொண்டைநோவு tondai-novu, பெ. (n.) 1. தொண்டைக்கட்டு; sore throat, pharyngitis. 2. உள்நாக்கு நோய்; tansilitis. [தொண்டை + நோவு] தொண்டைப்பிடி tondai-p-pidi, பெ. (n.) 1. தொண்டையடைப்பு பார்க்க; see tondai-y- adaippu. 2. கடினமாய் நெருக்குகை; extreme pressure, as for paying a debt. கொடுத்த கடனுக்குத் தொண்டையைப் பிடிக்கிறான். [தொண்டை + பிடி தொண்டைப்புகைச்சல் tondai-p-pugaiccal, பெ. (n.) தொண்டை புகைந்திருமுகை; catarrh, bronchitis, laryngitis, irritation of the throat {செஅக.). (n.) தொண்டை உள்ளுறுப்புகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் வேக்காடு, புண், குருதிக்காயம் முதலியன; disease of the throat such as inflammation, soreness ulceration etc., of the internal parts as tonsils, larynx, pharynx, oesphagus etc known as tansilitis, langitis,pharyngitis etc. [தொண்டை + புண்) தொண்டைப்புற்று tondai-p-purru, பெ.
