Pratap Simha's sister Simha Bai was married to Mallarji Gade Rao.

Tukkoji’s son Nana Saheb had a son called Appu Sabeb. Appu. Saheb's son was named Nana Saheb.

Sarabhoji had a difference with his brother Tukkoji. So Tukkoji lived separately at Mahadevapattinam.

Sarabhoji had no child. His second wife Apurupa Bai, at the evil advice of vicious women, pretended pregnancy and announced the birth of a son. The king at first believed, but later on, discovering the truth, had the child put to deaths. Sarabhoji also died in Saka 1649, (A.D. 1727). His wives Sulakshana Bai and Rajasa Bai entered funeral pyre.

Tukkoji then ascended the throne. During his rule, Meenakshi, the

ruler of Tiruchirapalli, had troubles from the “poligars” and Tukkoji helped her to put down the rebels.

Tukkoji died in Saka 1657 (A.D. 1735).

12 Tukkoji's eldest son Ekoji Valias Bava Saheb succeeded Confused State him. He would not believe any one and he was always suspicious of designs on his life. It was during his reign that Chanda Saheb invaded Thanjavur. Inspite of illness he fought against the invader and made him retreat. He died in Saka 1658 (A.D. 1736).

In the absence of any other heir, his senior wife Sujan Bai ascended the throne. She ruled for about two years. Now a pretender, who claimed to be the son of Sarabhoji and who was said to have been killed, was set up against her by one Koyaji Ghangte. The pretender's name was Subanya and he was the son of Rupi, a maid servant. He came to be known as Kattn Raja. Having obtained the support of the English at Devinampattinam (Fort St. David), he deposed Sujan Bai and became King. After some time

the pretender was driven out and in Saka 1661 (A.D. 1739), Pratapa Simha was made king.

Now Draupada Bai. the second wife of Pratapa Simha gave birth to a son who was named Tulaja.

13 A Muslim called Saiyid was the killedar and commander Pratapa simha of the forces at Thanjavur. During the period of his domination, charities established from the days of Еkoji were not conducted. It was he who helped the pretender, Subaniya. Siddoji
