As just now pointed in this same epic an interesting episode from the life of Úhi (Yougänddarayana), the bosom-friend of the king Udayanam, is used in an important simile pertaining to the Chola prince Udayakumâran” and it is in this place alone in the whole of early Tamil literature we get a reference to the story of Udayanan. But the references that are found about Ujjain and Udayanan in Peruñkatai are very many and varied with detailed descriptions.
