ரேலிய மொழிகள் பேசும் மக்களிடம் கேட்கலாம். இவை இப்பண்டை மக்களுடைய கதைகளெனக் கூற இடமுண்டு. பண்டை இந்தியச் சமூக மத விஷயங்களில் ஆசிய-ஆஸ்திரேலிய நாகரிகம் ஓரளவு குடிகொண்டுள்ளது உண்மையாகும் ‘, என்று கூறியுள்ளமை,[1] இன்றைய மாகாபாரதத்திலுள்ள கதைகளுள் சிலவேனும் இந்த ஆசியஆஸ்திரேலிய மக்களிடம் பன்னெடுங் காலமாக வழங்கி வந்தனவாக இருத்தல் கூடும் என்பதை நம்ப இடம் தருகிறது. “ வியாச பாரதத்தில் இன்று ஒரு லட்சம் சுலோகங்கள் உள்ளன. இவை நடையில் பல்வேறு நூற்றாண்டுகளைச் சேர்ந்தனவாகக் காணப்படுகின்றன. எனவே, மூலநூல் மிகக் குறைந்த அளவிலேயே இருந்திருத்தல் வேண்டும், ‘ என்று R. C. டட் போன்ற ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் கூறியுள்ளமையும் கவனிக் கத்தகும்.[2]
