Decad: 13 Thiruppoovalli Sub-title : Maayaa vishayam meekkuthai (Discarding matters of Maaya) Abstract: One has to think that the saint as the lady-love in bridal mysticism has sought one of sportive activities of maidens in gathering flowers. They in a group are said to pluck the flowers of lily singing His glory. Lily (Alli) is a water plant growing in ponds and pools and flowering in water during the early hours of the morning. One has to get down into the water to pluck the flowers. It is to be noted that no mention has been made in this decadas to their getting into the water at all! While singing His glory that “Lord Civan came seeking and seeking forme and entered the body”(5) and “entering my” body. He made me His own”(17), the saint expresses His great mercy for him. The saint speaks of His three incomprehensible forms such as the Form. Formless and Form-without form (6) and also that He, cooling His fiery form took possession of his mindasa transcendent Being(11). Here he has disclosed that the transcendentally supreme God Whom he has realized as milk.ambrosia and honey is the right Goal for those of the world. Further the saint has disclosed how he was made to renounce the world. “When spraised and served HIm formany aday, the great One planted His blossom Feet on my heart (9). He bestowed the picture of His twin Feet in my mind and made it His abode (14), When He of Perumthurai placed His excellent Feet on my head (10) I renounced and abandoned the Whole lot of my relatives”(1). Thus he was able to sever the bonds of father, mother, relatives and all the rest(2), throwing dust in the mouth of the potent Karma(3). These features reflect the meaning of the sub-title of this decad. 466
