Decad: 23 (The decad of I am not yet dead) Sub-title: Civaanantham alavarukkaonnaannai (Immeasurability of Bliss of Civan) Abstract: What is the significance of the title of the decad"I am not yet dead” which occurs in the first stanza itself? The saint says so for having parted from Him who had made Ambrosia well up in his body. He feels very much that when he has lost his very objective while awake by this parting, there is no point in his living any longer. So he sings “Separated from You what pleasure have I to survive? (6) So he painfully says “I am not yet dead”(1). This does not mean that he pleads for death. While many devotees have become withered in seeking God, He Himself caught the saint by one word and overwhelmed him. For this act of grace of God the saint feels that he does not pant for the grace nor has he any iove for Him. So he says that he does not die as a punishment for his unfaithful attitude. This does not mean that he pleads for death.(2). Being weiaried that neither his sense organs nor does his mind melt for His grace, He prays to God, “Show me the mighty way to You ! (7). Do say “Take it as Your goal” by showing Your Feet (8). Do in Your grace tell me “Do this”.(6). When he feels that God has not done any of these nor done away with the delusions of his body(5) he becomes vexed. 5 BG
