Decad:37 Pitlìththa Paththu (Decad of the Grasp) Sub-title: Muththi-k-Kaiappu-vuraiththal (Reiating the union during deliverance) Abstract: This is one of the best decads in Thiruvaachagam. The saint explains how he caught hold of God firmly. He discloses the fundamental secrets of his experiences which form the natural concatenation of his spiritual development. In the third verse of this decad he praises God as delicious Ambrosia grown and developed out of love. What is this love about? This is true love for Him and it will be developed only by His Grace. The saint prays to God that he be blessed with this true love for Him in the decad of supplication (32:3:32:6). God has been gracious enough to bestow on him this undying love (31:9) out of mercy. With this love the saint eulogizes Him for the mercy shown to him, “Oh great Lord-Civan You bestowed on me a grace undeserved by me and enabled my body and soul to joyfully thaw and melt with love (22:2). Oh Flame of Reality You, making my body and soul soften in every pore and melt, have entered me and, dwelling in me, have dispelled the darkness of unreality”(22:3). Oh Eesan : Oh flawless Gem 1 You making my foul frame mellow pore by pore, entering it as if it were a golden temple and melting all my bones came as an easily accessible One, ensiaved me and made me your own 1" (37:10). 724
