234 நீதிநெறி விளக்கம் என்னும் பழமொழிச் செய்யுளையும், ' ஈனமா யில் விருங் கின்றி விளியினு மானங் தலைவருவ செய்பவோ-பானே வளிமுகம் புண்படுக்கும் வள்ளுகிர் கோன்ரு ளரிமா மதுகை யவர்.” என்ற நாலடிச் செய்யுளையும் ஒப்பு நோக்குக. பிறன் பொருளும் வெஃகார் :
- அஃகாமை செல்வக்கிற் கியாதெனின் வெஃகாமை
வேண்டும் பிறன் கைப் பொருள். ' -குறள். புறங்கடை யதாகும் பொருள் : பொருள் அவரவர் வேண்டுங் காலத்தை எதிர்பார்த்துக் காக்கு மென்பார் புறங்கடையதாகும் பொருள் என்றார்.” -கோ. இ. To such as do not fail of what is due to their respective station and lineage, exert the phselves in their proper calling, and though in difficulties, neither transgress the bounds of virtue, nor covet their neighbour’s wealth ; riches will flow to their very gates. — H. S. Abundant wealth will be stable only with those who toil on straight in the paths of virtue, and in spite of pains and privations, acquire riches by means worthy of their birth and station, indulge not in sin, and covet not another's property. ––C. Riches flow to the very gates of those who never swerve from the duties of their station and lineage, who exert themselves in doing their duty of being universally beneficent and who even in difficulties transgress not the bounds of virtue, nor covet their neighbour’s wealth. —T.
