'உயிரை அனுவென்னும் மரபுபற்றிச் சிற்றுயிரென்ருர்”..உ.வே.சா. உற்ற துணை- சின்னட் பல்பிணிச் சிற்றறிவினையுடைய வுயிர் கட்கு, இம்மைக்குரிய அறமுதலிய மூன்றையும் அவற்ரு லாகிய புகழையுங் தருகற்குச் சாதனம் செல்வப் பொருளாயினும் மனக் கவலையை ஒழித்தற்கும் முத்தியை அடைவித்தற்குஞ் சாதனமாகாமையால் அவை எல்லாவற்றையுங் கருதற்குச் சாதனங் கல்வியே யென்பார் சிற்றுயிர்க் குற்ற துணை கல்வியினுளங்கில்லை என்ருர். -தி. சு. செ. ' முதலடியுளும் இாண்டாமடியுளும் நான்காமடியுளும் மோனை யின்மை காண்க. இச் செய்யுள் வடசொல் ஒன்றேனு மின்றி வந்த தனித்த மிழ்ப் பாடலாதல் காண்க ” -வி. கோ. சூ. It will bestow virtue, riches, pleasure and Heaven ; it will establish a good report in the World, and when any great affliction may betide, it will afford a hand ; than learning short-lived mortals have no surer stay. —H. S. It will teach virtue and yield wealth, and pleasure, and heavenly bliss ; it will establish á good name abroad ; and when calamities befall you, it will lend a helping band. Hence there is no better 'support to short-lived mortals than learning. —C. M.
