An enterprising Gentleman,—Mr. P. M. Madooray Pillay, a trader and Municipal Commissioner of Rangoon, a Madrasi by birth we believe, is travelling in Germany at present. He intends after visiting the principal countries of the continent of Europe, to spend sometime in England and Scotland studying manners and customs and channels of trade and industry there. It would be well for Madras and .India, if we had a few more men of his stamp. People go to England —and stay there. They forget that the “continent " too has many things, many most important things, to teach them. We have eyes and we see not, we have ears and we hear not. -
