{{Ref}} and {{note}} are used for customizable inline references to footnotes.

Usage

Default

Example

Text{{ref|identifier}}.

{{note|identifier}} Reference text.

Text^[identifier].

^  Reference text.

Replace "identifier" with a unique number or name, which will be used as the link text and target. This is usually an incremental number (like "1") or letter (like "a").

Customized

You can customize the appearance to match a particular format using optional parameters.

Example

Text{{ref|identifier|visible ref text!}}.

{{note|identifier|visible note text!}} Footnote text.

Text^{visible ref text!}.

^visible note text!  Footnote text.

Customized IDs

Example

Text{{ref|identifier|id 1|id=identifier-1}}.

Text{{ref|identifier|id 2|id=identifier-2}}.

{{note|identifier|ref1=identifier-1|ref2=identifier-2}} Footnote text.

Text^{id 2}.

Formatting

By default, notes are bold and italic. Setting |bold=no and/or |italics=no will disable bold and italic formatting respectively.
